Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search tool is delivered directly to the outside provider operating that feature. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We may retain an email message long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared beyond our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the servers automatically receive basic technical and usage details:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Visited pages and the time spent on them
- Device category and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers help combine that activity into broader measurements. A browser can block cookies, although disabling them may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner service
- Maintaining site availability and page performance
- Finding and correcting technical faults
- Measuring which material visitors use
- Presenting advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Waller County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to Waller County Sheriff's Office, local courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy terms govern information entered there, including retention and sharing. We do not set those practices. Read the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Waller County offices, Texas agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs within the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query
- Advertising networks serving page content
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures protect collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or another breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that such information was submitted, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may give a visitor rights over personal data. Texas Government Code Chapter 411 separately limits dissemination of criminal-history information, while the Texas Public Information Act governs access to nonexempt government records. Those government-record laws do not turn this private site into a public custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal information we hold
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion where the law provides that right
- Decline certain processing where an opt-out right applies
